Year 11 Design Technology Students Interview Cineworld Manager

On Wednesday 17th March, year 11 students studying GCSE design technology were joined by Mr Jason Bird, Manager of Cineworld in Newport, to discuss the cinema experience.

Students interviewed Jason, asking questions about the whole customer experience at Cineworld to aid them in their GCSE design technology course. This was part of the primary research part of the course.

Our technology curriculum builds creativity, problem solving, planning, practical and evaluation skills so that our students become independent and resourceful.

Students develop an understanding of the huge, life-changing role and impact a designer can have through the use of real world problems and value what is ‘good design’ and how it will impact their future lives.

The curriculum also promotes a culture of ‘design critique’ to produce quality outcomes via peer and group work, respecting other students’ opinions.
