Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Breakfast

On the morning on Friday 11th March, students in years 10 and 11 received their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award certificates.  A massive congratulations and well done to Casper, Constance, Elena, Emma, Freya, Grace, Henry, Jarvis and Mason!

These students had a celebration breakfast to reflect their great achievement.  It is worth noting that students completed their Duke of Edinburgh awards through the pandemic and have had to be flexible and adapt to make sure they met the requirements of their skill, physical and volunteering sections.  Many students participated in the camp cookery skills course that we offered as well as volunteering for family members and the local community during the pandemic.  The most popular physical activity was walking which again reflects the adaptations students made to make sure they were successful.

There is much discussion on the benefits for students wellbeing and mental health when they are engaged in these programmes and this school year we have 5 Bronze, 2 Silver and 2 Gold groups.

Any student who has completed their award but not uploaded their evidence should see Mrs Rouse or Miss Gibson.
