Year 10 Student Awarded Second Place in Great Ormiston Bake 2023 Finals

Cowes Enterprise College student, Manuel, has secured second place in the Great Ormiston Bake 2023 finals held at St. Andrew’s Stadium in Birmingham during the Easter Break.

Manuel, who is in Year 10, competed against students from three schools within the Ormiston Academies Trust by creating a ‘showstopper’ cake. This followed his impressive performance in the regional finals hosted at Cowes Enterprise College in November last year.

Manuel’s festive Easter basket cake, featuring icing roses, a piped basket, and fondant rabbits, impressed the judges, earning him second place in the competition.

There was a huge variety of striking and delicious cakes, making the competition extremely tough.

Principal, Rachel Kitley, said:

“We are incredibly proud of Manuel’s success in the Great Ormiston Bake 2023 finals. He worked hard and showed great skill and creativity in making his Easter basket cake. It is wonderful to see our students excelling outside of the classroom and being recognized for their talents.”

Cowes Enterprise College is proud of Manuel’s achievement and looks forward to continuing to support and encourage its students to pursue their interests and talents in all areas.
