Year 8 #WeWill Trip

Students will be attending the trip to Lanesend Primary School in their English registration groups on Monday 6th February (English classes 8XYEN1, 8XYEN2, 8XYEN3, 8XYEN4).

As you are aware, year 8’s have been working hard to achieve their Murray Award through the social action project #WeWill Explore.  Part of this project involves the students visiting Lanesend Primary School to complete their Enrich Education orienteering course and in turn, the year 4 students will visit CEC later that week.  This is a rearranged date following being postponed in November due to the weather.

The trip will take place during lessons 1 and 2. We will walk together to Lanesend primary school, spend an hour completing the course and then will return to school in time for break.

Students will be expected to wear full CEC uniform but to also include outerwear to take into account that this activity will be based outside and will continue regardless of weather conditions. Students are also encouraged to ensure that they have a bottle of water with them.

We look forward to experiencing this enrichment opportunity with the year 8 students. The work that students have been completing during tutor time, Cowes Charter, PE and Geography will all contribute to a successful trip for them.  Students have been developing their teamwork, leadership and geographical skills over the past half term and will continue to explore and develop over the coming weeks.

If parents/cares have any further queries, then please get in touch with the #WeWill Lead Mrs Thomas.
