Isle of Wight Science Festival

Cowes Enterprise College to Host 2025 Isle of Wight Science Festival

We are thrilled to share that Cowes Enterprise College will once again host the Isle of Wight Science Festival on Thursday 3 July 2025, welcoming our students to take part in a day packed with hands-on science, technology and engineering experiences.

Following the huge success of last year’s festival, this year’s event promises to be bigger and even more interactive, with an exciting line-up designed to “light a spark to encourage the engineers of the future.” With global demand for engineers and scientists growing rapidly, we are proud to be playing our part in inspiring the next generation.

The festival will feature a range of Activity Zones, including:

  • Exhibitor stands from over 30 companies and organisations
  • A pop-up science centre
  • Live science shows including Where Science Meets Wonder
  • A STEM Challenge Workshop
  • A Planetarium experience
  • Interactive exhibits from the Isle of Wight College and CECAMM, including forensic science and “invisible beams”
  • A special appearance from the Island’s very own National Poo Museum!

For our Year 10 and 12 students, the day will also include a careers speed-meet event, giving them the chance to meet professionals from a wide range of industries, explore future career pathways, and learn vital employability and interview skills ahead of their GCSE and A-Level exams.

From hydrogen-fuelled cars to plankton poo tanks, wind turbines to radar systems, last year’s exhibitors captivated our students with state-of-the-art demonstrations – and we’re delighted that even more will be joining us this summer.

The Science Festival is being organised by the IoW Science Festival Steering Team and supported by the Wight Aviation Museum
