We are delighted that we have been able to offer your child a place at Cowes Enterprise College and we are looking forward to meeting you in the coming months.
Our friendly, popular school has been celebrating excellent examination results coupled with a varied and exciting enrichment programme over the past few years and we are continuing to deliver a high quality education to Island children. We are excited to welcome you and your family to our school community and are looking forward to supporting your child through their secondary education, delivering our academy values to ‘Educate for life’.
Please take some time to carefully read through the Year 7 Welcome Booklet linked below, which provides important information relating to language choices, uniform, timetables and equipment.
Please could we ask for the data collection packs be completed and given to your child’s primary school before Friday 10th June.
The transition team have already been liaising with all primary schools, sharing information and discussing the best way to continue to support your child when they arrive in September. Over the next few months, different members of staff will be visiting your child in their primary school. These visits will ensure your child knows a friendly face and will give them more confidence for when they start in September. These visits also give your child an opportunity to ask any questions, and for us to reassure them that they will be well looked after and flourish in our academy.
So that you and your child can orientate themselves ahead of September, please also enjoy watching our welcome video and access our new 360-degree tour and curriculum links.
Making the transition to a new school is often filled with a range of different emotions and change can be an unsettling time for many children. It is also an incredibly exciting time as a new chapter begins. Please be assured that over the next 12 weeks, we will be spending as much time that is needed in individual primary schools, talking to your child and getting a good understanding of their pastoral and academic needs to from their head teacher, Year 6 teacher and welfare teams. In the meantime, if you have any further questions, please do email Mrs J Rudd, Head of Year 7 ([email protected]).
