Senior Maths Challenge

The Senior Maths Challenge took place on Wednesday 10th November.

Cowes Enterprise entered 28 students from Year 12 and 13. This is a 90 minute challenge that aims to make the students think in a variety of mathematical ways. There are 25 questions of increasing difficulty. The Challenge is taken nationally by many schools, with only the top 10% gaining Gold certificates, the next 20% gaining Silver and the next 30% gaining Bronze. The very best are invited to take either the Kangaroo or Olympiad.

Cowes managed 1 Gold, 3(?) Silver and 12(?) Bronze. Tom Burridge qualified for the Kangaroo which he took last Thursday. We will find out whether he managed to achieve a Merit in due course.

Well done to all those who participated in this engaging challenge.
