DofE Bronze Practice Expedition Day

On a very wet and wild day Sunday (23rd May), students taking part in the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award successfully completed their Bronze practice expedition day.

Students had been working hard to plan their 6 hour routes and work on their expedition aims.  Students all walked from various locations to Chine Farm camp site, many students with a full kit!  All groups experienced some route diversions but managed to successfully get to the end point after walking in the wind and rain.  They have practiced their navigational skills and used features on the map to meet staff at the different checkpoints.

Students enjoyed the day and learned some fantastic skills to take to their assessed expeditions on 2nd and 3rd July.

We have selected our five Duke of Edinburgh student ambassadors and will be launching this scheme through the coming week.

A really big well done to everyone involved in this. It was a challenging day and all students did their very best!
