We are incredibly proud of our students and staff at Cowes Enterprise College, part of Ormiston Academies Trust, who celebrated fantastic achievements at the 50th Anniversary Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards on Thursday 27th March at Medina Theatre.
The awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognise the incredible sporting talent on the island and the dedication of those who contribute to the success of local sport. We were thrilled to see our PE department win the Secondary Sporting School Award, a well-deserved recognition of their hard work in providing opportunities for all students to participate and excel in sport.
This achievement follows a fantastic year for the department, which included receiving the PEACH Gold Award for supporting Year 6 primary school students in their transition to secondary school through PE. The team has also earned the Gold Sports Mark for three consecutive years and run an inspiring Sports Leadership Programme with Sixth Form Sports Captains, PE mentors, and KS3 and KS4 sports ambassadors.
We were also incredibly proud to see some of our talented students recognised for their individual sporting achievements:
Principal Rachel Kitley said:
“We are so proud of both our students and staff for their achievements at the Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards. The dedication, teamwork, and resilience they’ve demonstrated is truly inspiring. It’s wonderful to see their hard work celebrated, and we look forward to seeing them continue to flourish in their sporting journeys.”
A huge well done to all our finalists, winners, and the PE department for their exceptional contributions to school sport.
