Students at Cowes Enterprise College are in full swing relaunching their Duke of Edinburgh programme. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, aimed at 14-24 year olds, consists of three progressive levels and there are four sections to complete at Bronze and Silver level and five at Gold. These involve helping the community and environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills and planning, training for and completing an expedition.
Cowes Enterprise College students completing their award are on the lookout for members of the public who could provide a volunteering opportunity.
The requirement is for students to volunteer for an hour a week for 12 weeks. This could be writing to someone who has experienced some loneliness during lockdown, helping with gardening or litter picking, researching and designing promotional materials for a good cause.
Please contact the dedicated Duke of Edinburgh email at [email protected] if you have any opportunities you can provide the students.
