Success at the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge

Students from years 10 and 11 have taken part in the 2021 UKMT (United Kingdom Mathematics Trust) national Intermediate Maths Challenge.

The Mathematics Trust, which is a registered charity whose aim is to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics, organised the nationwide competition and awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold prizes to those who achieved a certain mark or higher.

27 students across two year groups took part and were awarded two gold awards, five silver awards, 10 bronze awards and 10 participation awards. We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and amazing mathematical achievements!

Huge congratulations to Joseph B, Ella B, Vely E, Alfie G, Jackson H, Connie H, Jacob T and Rusen U from Year 10 and Rylan A-S, Charlie B, Thomas B, James B, Charlotte B, Adam B, Marcos C-L, Joshua F, Jessica G, Finley G, Orla G, Lotti H, Gethin H, Gabby H, Sam M, Bradley M, Freddy N, Rufus R and James W in Year 11.

Additional congratulations to Josh F and Freddy N who have qualified for the next round of the UKMT Maths Challenge! We wish them the best of luck.

Cowes Enterprise College are delighted to offer our students the chance to take part in such events as the UKMT Challenge. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their mathematical skills and build on work done on lessons and we are so proud of them.
