46th Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards

The Isle of Wight Sports Achievement awards took place virtually through YouTube and Facebook onThursday 25th March (this was for the long awaited 2019 event). The online ceremony was hosted by Lord Grade of Yarmouth and Lucy Morgan. This event recognises outstanding achievement or service, amongst sportsmen and women of all ages and showcases our sporting talent and success stories.

We are incredibly proud and offer our huge congratulations to Oliver Evans (sixth form student) for winning his category for intermediate boys.

Ollie has had a fantastic year sailing nationally and internationally, gaining 9th place in the 29er European Championships on Lake Garda and a 3rd in the Bloody Mary pursuit race at Queen Mary Sailing Club out of 215 starters. Ollie also gained a 10th place at the British Youth Nationals in Weymouth.

We are also very proud of our P.E. department, who were finalists in their nomination for ‘Secondary Sporting School’. This is an incredible achievement, a huge well done to all involved.
