IOW Schools Year 7 and 8 Netball Tournament

On Tuesday the 15th March CEC had two year 7 teams and one year 8 team entered for the IOW Schools year 7 and 8 Netball Tournament which was hosted by us here at Cowes.

Year 7 Cowes A team (Wearing Navy bibs) – Phoebe H, Sienna W, Rosa D, Maia U, Molly H, Freya S and Jemima C.

This team have been extremely committed to coming to club and working really hard on improving their game play since starting in September, their movement on the court improved with each game. Some excellent shooting & defence by the girls which helped them finish the tournament with an impressive 4th place narrowly missing 3rd pace by 2 points.

Year 7 Cowes B team (Wearing yellow bibs) – Grace B, April B, Chloe M, Olivia M, Lola M and Skye S.

This team have also been super committed to attending club and being one player down they played against all other schools either borrowing a player or without one. This showed huge determination from the girls and bearing in mind they haven’t been playing together very long they improved their passing skills throughout each game. This team placed 7th.

Year 8 Cowes A team (Wearing red bibs) – Lyla H, Jenna W, Nanci P, Luca W, Tessa G, Biba D, Arabel C, Scarlet G and Raphaella T.

Massive congratulations to this team who placed an impressive 3rd place overall. They have worked really hard since September developing their tactical skills in passing down the court and moving into space. They worked extremely hard during this tournament and showed excellent game play.

Well done to all three teams who showed determination and dedication and it has been fantastic to watch them develop into strong netball players and we hope this continues into next year when the season starts again.

All girls represented themselves and the school admirably, we are super proud of you all.

Special thanks to two 6th form students Chloe D & Tilly B for helping on the day, Miss J White for umpiring and to the other members of the P.E department for your continual support.
