In December, Cowes Enterprise College celebrated a significant milestone in its Performing Arts journey with a production of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. This production marked the culmination of ten years of outstanding school performances, showcasing the enduring talent and creativity of students and staff
The production combined the incredible talent of students with traditional language, modern storytelling devices and innovative set and sound design to create a unique retelling of a classic.
The stage was transformed into a mesmerizing dreamscape, with simple gauzy backdrops and minimal props serving as the perfect canvas for abstract projections. This approach not only lent the play an ethereal and otherworldly ambiance but also allowed the audience to immerse themselves fully in the enchanting world of The Tempest.
Principal Rachel Kitley said:
“At Cowes Enterprise College, we believe in the power of the arts to inspire and educate. Our production of The Tempest is a testament to the creativity and passion of our students and staff, showcasing their exceptional talent and commitment to excellence.”
Cowes Enterprise College look forward to our upcoming production of Matilda the Musical, with auditions happing in February ready for rehearsals ready for performances in July.
