CEC Students Shine in Duke of Edinburgh Volunteering Projects

Cowes Enterprise College is proud of its students’ remarkable achievements in the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) programme. This year, they have dedicated nearly 300 hours to volunteering, making a positive impact in the school and wider community.

Under the DofE programme, students are encouraged to develop their skills, confidence, and resilience through various activities, including volunteering. The commitment shown by Cowes Enterprise College students is commendable.

From buddy reading and dog walking to charity shop assistance and field research support, students have engaged in diverse volunteering activities. Their efforts have contributed to the local community and helped younger children in physical activities.

Cowes Enterprise College is thrilled by the increase in volunteering hours this year, thanks to more students enrolling in the DofE programme. Lots of this work is arranged and managed by the students themselves with a small amount of encouragement from us as staff.

Miss Gibson and Mrs Rouse our Duke of Edinburgh Managers said:

“We often get very positive feedback from parents and students about the Duke of Edinburgh award programme and we are thrilled about the value and impact our students have had on both the school and wider community with their volunteering”

Congratulations to all the Duke of Edinburgh participants at Cowes Enterprise College. Your dedication and valuable contributions make you true superstars, impacting lives in a positive way.
