CEC Inspires Future Healthcare Professionals with Special Training Day

Cowes Enterprise College recently welcomed aspiring doctors, nurses, vets, paramedics, and midwives for a day of inspiring training led by medical professionals. The event aimed to provide personalised support and guidance to students pursuing careers in healthcare.

With a remarkable 100% success rate in helping students secure highly competitive places in medical and veterinary schools, Cowes Sixth Form offers a comprehensive support program tailored to those aspiring to enter the healthcare field.

Students from across the island who have a passion for healthcare were invited to participate in a masterclass led by an exceptional team of professionals. The day involved practical activities and a ‘multiple-mini-interview’ style practice event, enabling students to gain valuable experience and insights.

Supporting the next generation of applicants were former Cowes students currently studying medicine, midwifery, and paramedic science. These alumni returned to offer detailed and wide-ranging advice based on their own experiences.

Dr. Daisy Cody, a former Cowes student who will soon be graduating from the University of Southampton’s medical school, emphasised the crucial role played by Cowes Sixth Form’s support program in her journey. She shared her inspiring story of beating the odds to secure a spot in a highly competitive course with 10 applicants vying for each place. Dr. Cody encouraged aspiring medics, saying: “Medicine is hard work, but so rewarding.”

Principal of Cowes Enterprise College, Rachel Kitley, said:

“Our personalised support program, combined with the expertise and guidance of medical professionals, empowers students to achieve their ambitions and successfully secure places in competitive healthcare programs. We are delighted to inspire and guide the next generation of healthcare professionals.”

Cowes Enterprise College continues to provide outstanding opportunities for students aspiring to healthcare professions, equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge and support to excel in their chosen paths.
