CEC Celebrates Three Years of School Games Gold Mark Award

Cowes Enterprise College has achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year, marking the third consecutive year of this prestigious recognition.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition within their school and the wider community. Cowes Enterprise College is honored to have been acknowledged for its success in this domain.

This year’s sporting achievements at Cowes Enterprise College include a diverse array of extra-curricular clubs and fixtures, events led by Sports Leaders and Sports Captains, PEACH events, and PE transition activities.

With a significant number of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, Cowes Enterprise College is extremely proud of its students for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including the young volunteers, leaders, and officials who have made these competitions possible.

As part of the application process, the academy was required to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce, and clubs. The hard work and commitment of everyone at Cowes Enterprise College have been rightfully rewarded this year.

Cowes Enterprise College Principal, Rachel Kitley, said:

“We are immensely proud of our students and staff for their outstanding dedication to school sport. Achieving the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the third consecutive year is a testament to their hard work and the supportive community we have cultivated at Cowes Enterprise College.”

Special thanks is extended to the CEC PE Department, CEC students, and the staff and students of our feeder schools.

Cowes Enterprise College looks forward to applying for this esteemed award once again in 2025.
